Behind the scenes @ LAST-BENCH! is an 'inside look' into the happenings at our start-up. Here you'll get to read about our brainstorming sessions, coffee breaks, 'whiteboard' drawings and most importantly connect with our team. It's almost as if you're right here with us! At Last-Bench! we don't like the concept of a lazy sunday. Sunday for us is the fun day. And true to the Last-Bench! spirit we love to combine work and play. Its the best way to work and its the best way to play...Its Magic, really..
The Pledge:
On a similar sunday, middle of august sometime, the team got together for a brainstorm session. The agenda- website revamp. To be honest, we love our website and that's the general feedback we've got...but...now that've launched the ESSENTIALLY BUSINESS program suite and our MANAGE WHAT program we thought it is time for some new graphics. But we always need to get into the groove before we think (or as we like to call it- ZEN mode) so we decided to go out on an adventure before actually doing some work (or is it the other way around? :P)...
The Turn:
Here's a secret about us- we're freaks! Fitness, food, adventure, fun, etc...you name it and we add freak as the post-script. This sunday we were part fitness and part cycling freaks (olympic hangover? hmm...maybe) and we decided to hit up a warm and cozy bicycle shop off Carter Road in Bandra. We looked and looked at the sweet rides (often picking our jaws off the floor when we saw something special) and then discussed about our options and then finaalllyyy found one that caught our fancy. We're junkies (adrenalin, strictly) and we had to ride (that was the point no?) and we must say the owners were the nicest people on the planet SO we had our way ;-) . We rode around the block, a few jumps and stunts (everything legal) and pumped ourselves with enough adrenalin to get our work done :) (Ummm...no...we didn't buy a bike...we're a start-up, remember :P)
The Prestige:

True to what Mr. Hugo said, our journey back was pure silence. We used all our energy to fuel our minds. To think, to imagine, to create and then to build. We stopped by a coffee shop somewhere in Juhu, got a laptop and a notepad out and suddenly...CRACK!...ideas here...ideas there....ideas everywhere...
We love the outdoors, we love society and we love life...thats the source of our inspiration. We look at the crowd and true to the city's spirit, we think -ESSENTIALLY BUSINESS EXPRESS. We look at the age old Banyan tree right beside the swanky high-rise, we think - MANAGEMENT ZEN/ MEDITATION GURU. We look at hitting the target (Solving the 'learning' problem + Olympic spirit!) and we think - ARCHERY! (robin hood, who better!?)
We love to let our imagination run wild. And adventure drives us to perform. Adrenalin plus coffee is truly the elixir of work :D
