A debate competition allows for enterprising and intelligent minds to take stage and express their thoughts and views to an enthusiastic audience. This one was no different. Last-Bench! had the privilege of sponsoring the annual S.M. Parekh Memorial debate competition at SPIT and, like everyone else present, we were left speechless by the quality of the competition and the array of talent at the event.
Participants were at their oratory best, arguing over topics that were extremely relevant in today's ever-changing world. The focus was on technology and education with a strong view on social and political happenings. It is important for the audience to connect with the problem and reflect upon the solutions presented by the speakers. The highlight of the competition was, undoubtedly, the ability of the speakers to convince, refute and question all points raised. Needless to say, the audience was in the thick of the action posing questions at the end of each round and demanding thoughtful answers from the speakers.
The interactive nature of the competition also gave us the opportunity to reach out to all young, budding learners and help them understand our offerings and programs better. Last-Bench! presented prizes at the end to the winners, runners-up, all semi-finalists and participants and judged the best audience question! True to the Last-Bench! spirit we even gave away goodies to all attendees!
